Who says you have to celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday? While these fine restaurants are closed on Sunday, you can still avoid the crowds and treat her to a nice meal on Friday or Saturday.
Ely’s Restaurant & Bar – Treat mom to a steak or her favorite seafood dish paired with a glass of wine. Ely’s is open Monday to Saturday from 4:00 p.m. – until. Gift cards are available. Call 601-605-6359 for reservations.
Heart & Soul Diner – Saturday morning breakfast or brunch couldn’t be better than the relaxed yet deluxe flavors served up in the variety of waffles and omelets available at Brandon’s popular Heart & Soul Diner. We can’t recommend this “breakfast all day” spot highly enough. Bring a big appetite and time to smile and relax with mom!
1908 Provisions – What could be more elegant on Mother’s Day than brunching against the backdrop of a gorgeous 1908 Colonial Revival mansion? 1908 Provisions serves Mother’s Day brunch from 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. with seatings every half hour. The spread is expansive including everything from oysters on the half shell, carving stations, made to order omelets, and more. This brunch usually fills up fast, so make your reservations soon!
County Seat – Start your day off with the scenic drive to County Seat in the Town of Livingston. Relax with a mimosa or Bloody Mary, then try one of their unique Southern creations, such as Livingston Benedict or a brunch flatbread. Call 601-906-6864 or visit their website to make a reservation.
Farmer’s Table Cooking School – Join the Farmer’s Table cooking school for a one-of-a-kind hands-on cooking class. Mom can sip on complimentary wine while learning how to prepare a mouthwatering menu. Check out their calendar of events and pick out the perfect class your mom is sure to enjoy.
The Iron Horse Grill – This downtown Jackson destination is serving up brunch in the form of a waffle and omelet bar from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Mother’s Day. Call 601-398-0151 to reserve.
The Manship Wood-Fired Kitchen – This Belhaven favorite is on a mission to give the special ladies in your life the day they deserve. They’ll be serving brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Mother’s Day and will also have a Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet. Call 601-398-4562 to reserve.
Old Capitol Inn – This downtown getaway rolls out the red carpet for mom each Mother’s Day, and if you’ve never experienced their brunch, this may be your year. There are two seatings, one at 11:00 am and one at 1:00 pm. Call 601-359-9000 to reserve your seats.
Saltine Oyster Bar – In addition to their regular brunch menu, Saltine will have some Mother’s Day specials up their sleeve. If you haven’t given the Scotch egg a try, we highly recommend it. From the regular brunch menu, we also like the chicken biscuits or brunch oysters paired with a mimosa or Bloody Mary. Brunch is served from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Seafood R’evolution – You definitely don’t want to miss the Mississippi Blues Brunch at Seafood Revolution. In addition to their always scrumptious regular menu, a they will feature a special Mother’s Day menu. Table 100 – Join them this Mother’s Day for a traditional Table 100 Jazz Brunch and Bloody Mary / Bubbles Bar. Raphael Semmes Jazz Band will be playing the instruments mom always wanted YOU to learn how to play! Sometimes it’s hard to balance everyone’s schedule ahead of time. If a last-minute solution is what you’re after, here are several Mom-worthy options.
Babalu – Treat mom to a “Mom-mosa” all weekend (May 12-14). Also, all moms receive a free order of their decadent dessert bites on Mother’s Day.
BRAVO! Italian Restaurant & Bar – Get there at open on Sunday (11 a.m.) to beat the crowd at this local favorite. Treat mom to a mimosa and a relaxing lunch she’s sure to remember.
Brent’s Drugs – Step back in time and give mom a nostalgic day at this Fondren landmark.
Broad Street – Broad Street opens early (7 a.m.) on Sunday morning. If something a little more laid back is more her taste, treat mom to one of their delicious homemade quiches, an omelet, Belgian waffle, and a hot cup of coffee.
Cerami’s Italian Restaurant – Open lunch only from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. with limited menu of customer favorites for Mother’s Day.
The Gathering at Livingston – The Gathering at Livingston is open for lunch on Sunday providing the perfect backdrop for a relaxing lunch with mom. They’re also open for supper as well, and while reservations aren’t accepted for lunch – they are for dinner.

Campbell’s Bakery – Order customized tea cakes especially for mom. They’ll melt in her mouth, and maybe she’ll share. Make sure to see her smile when you deliver them yourself!
