Eat Jackson readers:
You voted often.
In Eat Jackson’s Eat Madness competition, you voted through five rounds of head to head match-ups to give accolades to some of the best burgers in the Jackson metro. Match-ups included historic favorites, burgers from burger-only places and burgers from places that don’t seem like they’d be home to a burger at all. There were dives and white table cloth restaurants represented.
One thing became clear: Eat Jackson readers LOVE their burgers. You love all sorts of burgers – and you’re willing to get really serious campaigning for your personal favorites. With literally THOUSANDS of social media shares, tens of thousands of views of the now famous “Burger Bracket,” and a significant increase in burger orders at restaurants across town, our inaugural Eat Jackson Eat Madness competition has been quite a month of burger love that you’ve shown our local restaurant community.
Today at 5 p.m. the voting ended, and without further ado, it’s time to crown a winner in Eat Jackson’s 2013 Eat Madness: Burger Edition competition for the Best Burger in Jackson.
And the Winner Is…
The Baba Burger found exclusively at Babalu Tacos & Tapas in Fondren!
Eat Jackson wishes a hearty congratulations to all thirty-two restaurants who were nominated and participated in such a healthy competition that led to a great deal of burger sampling and burger-related conversation around town these past few weeks.
Most of all, congratulations to restaurant owners Al Roberts and Bill Latham (who struggled with not even being able to vote in the final round!) and their talented chef, David Ferris, whose restaurant Babalu Tacos & Tapas, as voted by you, the Eat Jackson readers, is the best burger in Jackson.
