Eat Madness: Burger Brackets & Battles!

NOMINATIONS ARE CLOSED – VOTING IS OPEN!

Editors note March 19th, 2013: Nominations are closed and the field of 32 has been chosen – it’s time to get voting!!

It’s that time of year… and by “that time,” I don’t just mean spring. I mean springing into action! I mean CHEERING FOR YOUR TEAM! I mean it’s the season of “madness,” the one that peaks in late March and early April with rivalries, blow-outs, buzzer beaters, old favorites and guys in the dance for the first time ever, all competing for the chance to say they are the best.

But I’m not talking about hoops, I’m talking about patties. Burger Patties.

This March, Eat Jackson will be going mad over where to find the best meat slapped between two buns in the metro area. It’s a full-on burger battle.  Here’s how it works.

Nominate your favorite burgers, we’ll take the top 32 and match them up in head-to-head competitions.  That’s right – a burger bracket!

Those winners will go on to the Savory 16, and we’ll do it all over again.  Each round will have voting with you, the burger-loving public, weighing in on which burger, head-to-head, is the best. Round one could feature, for example, the Blue Rooster’s Flamethrower Burger head-to-head with the Local 463 Kobe Burger… and then whoever most votes goes to the next round.

You want a burger to be in the field – your nominations will seed the field. Who’s ready for the Savory Sixteen and the Meat 8? Who’s a better “rooster” burger-maker – Blue Rooster or Roosters? Parlor Market or Burgers & Blues? It’s your chance to seed the field and help us crown a winner!

NOMINATIONS ARE CLOSED – VOTING IS OPEN!

Nominations are open until Friday, March 15 at 5 pm!

Though most may not think of a Greek restaurant getting in on this action, if you haven’t tried the Double Cheese Burger (mozarella and feta) at Krilakis in Ridgeland, you’re missing out. It’s a definite contender!!

Every time I see someone walking around without socks I assume it’s because they had a FLAMETHROWER at the BLUEROOSTER. It’ll definitely knock your socks off!!!! Everything a burger should be!
