Signa’s Grille, located on Highway 51, is brand new to the Ridgeland dining scene. This casual quick-service restaurant has a really good thing going with its simplicity and cleanliness. Oh yeah, and the food is worth talking about, too!
One of the things that most impressed me about Signa’s Grille was something I noticed the minute we walked in: The kitchen is 100% in plain view. There are no secrets to be kept about what goes on behind closed doors in this establishment (because there are no doors!) We walked in, hopped in line, placed our orders at the counter, and took a seat, all while being able to stare down the cooks burger flipping, slicing, and dicing. Just don’t stare too long because (a) it’s rude and (b) you might make them nervous!
Now. Back to the “placing the orders” part… The Signa’s Grille menu is rather large, so you’ve got lots of great options from which to choose.
If you’re into salads, there are multiple gourmet salads on there just for you!
Are sandwiches more your thing? You’re in luck. Po-boys, burgers, and a full page of gourmet sandwiches take up the bulk of the menu! We decided to try to 2 AM Patty Melt and The Dagwood. Boy, have you got to try these sandwiches…
After a few minutes of waiting, we heard our name being called. I walked up to the counter to grab our tray of savory delight!
The Dagwood at Signa’s Grille
My sandwich, The Dagwood, was the recommendation of the sweet girl taking the orders at the front. This sammy comes piled high with ham, turkey, bacon, two types of cheese, pickles, lettuce, basil mayo, and… here’s the kicker… salt and pepper POTATO CHIPS! Not only do a small amount of these chips come beside the sandwich, but they also come on the sandwich!
This sandwich tasted every bit as good as it looked. It was like a Club Sandwich taken to a whole new level. The chips on the sandwich were a great addition! It was at this point that I realized I should’ve ordered a side of these chips, because the few that had fallen off of the sandwich left me wanting more individual chips! They were good enough to make a meal off of just by themselves! (Now might be a good time to mention that all sides have to be ordered separately. And they’ve got plenty of sides, both healthy and not-so-healthy, as choices!)
The 2 AM Patty Melt at Signa’s Grille
Now let’s talk about this 2 AM Patty Melt which came from the Burgers section of the menu. This big boy is served on toasted white sourdough bread, and comes with creole garlic mayo, jalapenos, romaine, tomato, cheddar cheese, swiss cheese, caramelized onions, and mushrooms. My lunch buddy is what some might call “picky” when it comes to veggies, so he had them hold a couple of the aforementioned items, but this burger still got rave reviews. It looked miiiighty good! The fries that came with this sandwich were hand cut and deep fried to a deep gold. Greasy, yes, but oh-so-good!!
As we wound down our meal, the couple sitting next to us brought their tray over to start on their lunch. They were splitting the Swamp Burger, which is a grande burger topped with homemade chili, and a side of Sweet Potato Fries. At that very moment, we made the decision to come back as soon as we possibly could and try the exact same thing they were having.
Look for us there at lunch in the next day or two!
FOOD: Outstanding! We hear that the Signa family who opened up this joint is related to the Signa family who has Doe’s Eat Place in Greenville. Good food certainly runs in that family.
SERVICE: Although interaction with any server is minimal (place your order with one, pick your order up from another), the folks in there do seem to be very friendly! We visited during the thick of the lunch hour, so they seemed a little frazzled due to the packed house they were tending to, which is completely understandable.
ATMOSPHERE: Clean and simple. There are a few paintings on the walls, but other than that, the atmosphere isn’t something that will blow your mind. I will take this opportunity to mention the exposed kitchen again. They obviously are allowing their customers to keep them accountable when it comes to keeping the kitchen nice and tidy!

I have been multiple times, and each meal I got was outstanding. The burgers and sandwiches are top notch. I guess one of those salads is next on my list. I think they plan to expand (which is greatly needed). I don’t think you can go wrong picking Signa’s Grille.

Ordered takeout from there last night and it was delicious. My ONLY recommendation is that they need to change their bread for their po-boys. Too much bread to taste the great sandwiches. They need to get real New Orleans french bread or something closer to that and then it would be perfect.

We love signa’s! We have been 5 times and everything is great! My favorite is the sweet potato fries that you dip in a marshmallow sauce! It’s taste like a sweet potato casserole! You must try it if you haven’t already! Service is great and very friendly!

Thanks to your free food fridays….though I rarely comment the email brought this restraunt up on my phone. I got so excited about checking this place out that I called up and invited my friends. The owner was on hand when we arrived. THe place was PACKED, but we did not care. The staff was friendly and aided us in finding seating for my growing party of 4 that turned to 6. The food was AWESOME!!! We were all trying eachothers, and just had a great time for a casual Saturday night. My husband got the swamp burger and we all shared the app with side of guac. and fried okra. My daughter did not like her mac and cheese…beware it is homestyle and delicious but way too peppery for my little one. I was so excited by my selections to choose from I never even noticed, but they did have a kids menu. Good to know cause she will have eat there again. I got the veggie sandwich, but the salads looked amazing!!!
