Sombra Mexican Kitchen, the upscale Mexican newbie in Ridgeland’s The Township, makes some serious margaritas… From their simple House Margarita, to their ritzier ones (we love The Township Margarita), to their Sangria Margaritas (in this case, two rights definitely do not make a wrong!), we have yet to find one that lets us down.
Since today, February 22, is National Margarita Day, and since there are few margaritas in the world better than the ones served at Sombra, we wanted to treat you to a look at what goes on behind the Sombra bar! Bartender Jamye Owens tells us why their margaritas are a step above the rest, and walks us through the margarita-making process (all without spilling too many secrets! Sombra stays mum when it comes to the exact recipe of these gems, but for good reason!)
Now that you know more about the Sombra House Margarita, why not go grab one? Today only, all margaritas are half off, all day long!
Fun facts about Sombra Margaritas…
1. Dozens and dozens of limes are squeezed in-house every single day so Sombra will have plenty of lime juice to keep the margaritas coming.
2. The House Margarita only has about 130 calories (which is drastically less than most margaritas!) thanks to the all-natural ingredients.
3. Throughout the month of February, $1 from each Sangria Margarita sold goes to the American Heart Association! Now that’s a way to make your cocktails count!
Happy National Margarita Day, folks!
