As National Soup Month comes to an end, so does Operation: Soup Celebration…
We’ve enjoyed talking soup with all of you, and we hope you’ve gotten some ideas to make you a little more soup savvy next time the liquid dish comes up on the menu – or in your kitchen.
It’s a Little Cheese-y…
We can’t think of a more comforting soup. So, here’s our ode to the Cheese Soup from Beagle Bagel in Madison.
This particular cheese soup isn’t just any ordinary cheese soup… No sir! This is Chicken Rotel Cheese Soup! The wonderfully creamy cheese base is filled with Southwestern style goodies like Rotel tomatoes, shredded chicken, corn, and peppers. Taking a bite of this soup is like taking a bite of New Mexico! (In a good way…)
Be careful with this soup!
Warning: be sure to have a drink on hand! Beagle Bagel’s Cheese Soup packs some spice! It takes a few seconds to kick in, so you may not notice the heat until your second or third bite. But it’s coming!
Fun fact: Spicy foods speed up your metabolism, so even though this soup is pretty rich, there is a health benefit to it!
Unfortunately, Cheese Soup is not available every day at Beagle Bagel in Madison, but they tell me they have it about three times a week. Next time you’re in, be sure to ask – and hopefully enjoy! The Madison location of Beagle Bagel is open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 8:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m.
We hope to have one more soup recipe for you before the month is out, so you can make every month National Soup Month at your house!

Shecrab soup from mint! I’ve never tried Beagle bagel’s cheese soup but I love cheese soup and miss swensens.
I love and adore Basil’s Tomato Basil. But I’m super fond of Madison’s Beagle Bagel! My cousin does all their pastries! and he is AMAZING!
Any Jackson native should automatically go with “swenson’s” – Brent’s serves it now and I have the recipe
. It’s delish!
R.I.P Swenson’s… I miss that place! We might have to hit you up for that recipe, Lindsey…
