Since I’m out of town for spring break, I’ll be talking about some of these businesses down here in LA again tonight. Remember that’s “Lower Alabama” for those of you who aren’t real classy…
Moe’s Original Bar B Que was a fantastic event today for lunch. I wore a white button-down shirt and left with the same color that I started, one of our party wasn’t so fortunate. So if you don’t know much about Moe’s Original in Fairhope, AL here’s what I know.
After church today, we walked in to the crowded Windmill Market in downtown Fairhope, AL.. Moe’s Original Barbecue was our destination, and after waiting in line briefly we got our orders in. Pulled pork sandwiches were the order of the day. I mixed it up with a smoked chicken plate. 2 sides were mac n cheese and of course banana pudding. It was all REALLY good. Exceptional. My biggest complaint was that the banana pudding portion was just larger than a shot-glass, and I could have eaten twice that much. But since I’m training for a marathon, I guess that was a large enough. The Smoked Chicken plate that I got was almost half a chicken. It was really good, tender and juicy. Everyone agreed it was a great event. Today’s meal was topped off with a performance from a guy with a guitar that was pretty good. Since we were wrangling the kids, I didn’t get to listen too much, but the laid back music was an added bonus.
Finally, I’d be remiss to say that they also offered PBR for 2 bucks. I didn’t partake, but I could see where some PBR and BBQ might go really well together in that setting with the live music. I really wish I’d had my cell phone to take pictures, but all in all, it was great food, with a killer atmosphere. Tables outside, and laid back atmosphere all around.
Kids loved it. I loved it. Good times!
