5 Reasons We Love Capitol Grill

Redfish Poboy at Capitol Grill

Redfish Poboy at Capitol Grill

Have you been to Capitol Grill since its recent re-opening? If you haven’t yet, you should. Here are five reasons why:

1. Late night.

Sometimes, you need to eat dinner on the late side. Particularly on weeknights, it can be hard to find a restaurant with a full menu open past nine or ten – but now, Capitol Grill has you covered! Their kitchen stays open until 1AM every night. Yes, you read that right: every night of the week, full service kitchen until 1AM!

2. Your New Indoor Tailgating Capitol.

Need a place with classic tailgate food – but indoors, and with lots of flat screens? Boom. Capitol Grill is on it. (But don’t worry if you’re not a sports fan – there are tables off to the side, facing away from the screens, and it’s surprisingly quiet if you’re seated there!)

3. The food and drinks.

Capitol-Grill_cocktailConvenient hours and great game-viewing are nice, but you know Eat Jackson wouldn’t recommend a restaurant if the food and drinks aren’t good. Trust us: they are. The Po-Boy Sandwiches are filling and flavorful – try the Redfish! The side dishes are awesome, too; we think that the Fried Green Tomatoes and their classic Onion Rings are the standouts there. And the house cocktails have an adventurous spirit and fun names like The Rocky Top (Jack Daniels’ Tennessee Honey, infused with ginger, shaken with lemon and strained into a martini glass…mmm). Plus, for added fun, there are menu items like the Hail State Dog, the War Eagle Chicken Breast, Rebel Red Beans & Rice – hey, like we said, good spot for game-watching!

4. The rewards program(s).

On your first visit to Capitol Grill, ask for their rewards card, while it lasts: swipe the card each time you eat there, and once you’ve spent $100, you’ll get a $10 gift card. Also, the new Capitol Grill is now an EatJXN Card Partner – show your official Eat Jackson status, and you’ll get 15% off your entire ticket. Ah, sweet rewards!

5. Three little words: chocolate covered bacon.

That’s right. You wouldn’t expect to find a unique dessert offering at a bar and grill, but Capitol Grill is full of surprises. Well-cooked bacon, draped in dark chocolate, plated in a presentation worthy of the Food Network. Seriously, that’s all we’re gonna say, ‘cause the picture is worth a thousand words on this one!

Those are just five reasons out of many – if you have been to the new Capitol Grill, share your favorite reasons in the comments below!

Yep, you definitely had me a chocolate covered bacon. Geez. I’ve been wanting to try this place, though, amongst others I’m yet to try out! So many restaurants… so little time.
